What is the CauseVox AI Connector, and what is MCP?
The AI Connector links your CauseVox account to Claude or ChatGPT, so you can ask about your gifts, donors, events and email in plain English and get answers from your real data. It’s built on MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard Claude and ChatGPT use to connect to other apps.
Which AI apps does it work with?
Claude and ChatGPT. You add CauseVox as a custom connector in either app, then sign in with your CauseVox account. In ChatGPT, custom connectors need a paid plan, and whether it can make changes, like adding a note or building a list, depends on your plan and workspace settings.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Once CauseVox is connected, you can use it in the Claude and ChatGPT mobile apps, on your phone or iPad, as well as on your computer.
How do I connect it?
In CauseVox, open Settings > MCP and copy your Server URL and Client ID. Add a custom connector in Claude or ChatGPT, paste them in, then sign in with your CauseVox email and password and approve the connection. In Claude, look for Connectors in your settings.
We manage more than one CauseVox organization. Can we connect them all?
Yes. Each organization has its own Server URL, and each connection only sees that one organization. Add each one as its own connector.
Can it send emails or delete our data?
It can’t send or schedule emails. It can only draft them for you to review and send in CauseVox. Changes that affect many contacts show you a count first, and deleting a list, board, form or field, or turning on an automation, always needs your confirmation.
Is our data used to train AI?
CauseVox doesn’t use your data to train our AI. Claude and ChatGPT handle data under their own policies, which depend on your plan and settings.
