Year-end is the biggest giving season of the year, and it goes by fast. A year-end fundraising calendar template helps you decide what to send, who sends it, and when, so you’re not scrambling to write an appeal on December 28.
Our free 2026 template gives you a ready-made plan to start from. Download it, make a copy, and fill in your own dates, messages, and goals.
What’s Inside the Year-End Fundraising Calendar Template
Your download includes four tabs:
- Fundraising Calendar (Sample): a filled-in example you can borrow from
- Fundraising Calendar (Template): a blank version for your team
- Plan & Goals (Sample): an example of a realistic campaign plan
- Plan & Goals (Template): a blank plan to map out your own goals
How the Calendar Works
The calendar runs from early November through December 31, split into a pre-launch period and five campaign weeks. Each day lists the purpose, the medium (email, social, phone), who’s responsible, the theme, and the income you expect.
The sample plan uses five simple purposes to keep your messages balanced:
- Thank: remind donors what their support made possible
- Launch: share your state of the organization and kick off the campaign
- Engagement: tell stories and share impact on social media
- Ask: make a clear, direct request for a gift
- Quiet Day: pause, check your progress, and adjust
That mix matters. When donors hear from you with gratitude and stories, not just requests, they’re far more likely to give when you do ask.
Key Dates to Know for 2026
- November 6: soft launch begins in the sample plan
- December 1: GivingTuesday, with an early-bird ask in the weeks leading up to it
- Mid-December: a good time to check progress, introduce an “ask a friend” message, or launch a peer-to-peer fundraising push
- December 29 to 31: the final three days, when urgent messaging tends to bring in your biggest gifts
Set Your Goals First
Before you fill in a single date, use the Plan & Goals tab. The sample plan aims to raise $25,000 from 500 donors in December, with a simple ask of $25 per supporter. It also sets email targets, like a 20 to 30 percent open rate and a 3 percent click rate, so you’ll know how your messages are landing.
Start with your own numbers from last year, set a goal that stretches you without overwhelming you, then build your calendar around it.
Tips for Making the Template Your Own
- Start with your biggest dates. Mark GivingTuesday and December 31 first, then build around them.
- Assign a name to every task. A clear owner keeps things moving.
- Plan your thank-yous. They’re just as important as your asks.
- Leave room to adjust. Those quiet days are built in on purpose.
