Why you need a simple fundraising idea

Your fundraising idea needs to be as simple as possible. If it’s not, then you’re setting yourself up for an uphill battle. Crafting a story, writing content, and recruiting supporters is going to be exponentially more difficult for complex ideas.

Here’s why simple wins:
1. You’ll have a clear call to action so that supporters can really understand how to help you.
2. You’ll have an easy way to determine what success looks like.
3. Simple ideas are sticky and memorable.
4. Your boss only understands simple ideas.

So what do you need to do today?
1. Distill your idea down into it’s simplest, yet memorable form
2. Test your idea. Tell a colleague your idea and ask them to recall it to you the next day.
3. Don’t have too many cooks in the kitchen.
